Through hosting events, Better Together is able to provide a platform for businesses in our network to gain exposure while simultaneously connecting seemingly disparate communities. We also provide and connect people with professional opportunities like grants, internships, and teaching gigs to help makers of color plant their roots and grow their personal networks.

Better Together NYC 2024

Better Together is an event series by Crafting the Future (CTF) dedicated to celebrating and supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) makers, from emerging artists to established professionals. The series aims to foster a vibrant community by providing a platform for these creatives to showcase their talents, connect with broader audiences, and share their skills.
The events feature pop-up markets where BIPOC makers can display and sell their handcrafted goods, ranging from jewelry and clothing to fine art and home decor. These markets offer makers valuable exposure and opportunities to build their customer base. Additionally, the events include technical demonstrations where skilled artists showcase their techniques, providing educational experiences for both aspiring and experienced makers. Workshops led by experienced BIPOC artists offer hands-on learning in various craft and art forms, inspiring participants and enhancing their skills.
The goals of Better Together Brooklyn are to spotlight Black and Brown makers and connect young creatives with career opportunities. The event fosters networking, collaboration, and mutual support, providing young creatives with the chance to learn from established artists and explore potential career paths.
Better Together Brooklyn is committed to accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring no barriers to participation. There is no vendor fee, making it easier for emerging artists to showcase their work. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, featuring pop-up markets, technical demos, workshops, and live performances. This full-day event promises to be enjoyable and enriching, offering something for everyone.
